Dhaka – Bangladesh’s death toll from novel coronavirus has been raised to 1,502 with 38 fatalities reported in the last 24 hours ended on Monday morning, according to health officials.
Some 3,480 fresh infections were also reported during the period, raising the total number of Covid-19 patients to 115,786 since the South Asian country reported the first three cases on March 8.
Additional Director General of Directorate General of Health Services Nasima Sultana said a total of 15,555 samples were tested at different laboratories.
She added with another 1,678 patients recovered in on Sunday, the number of recoveries stands now at 46,755.
Among the total infections, 40.38 percent patients have recovered while 1.30 percent died so far. The first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
