Dhaka – The number of novel coronavirus cases crossed the 30,000 mark in Bangladesh with 1,694 new cases reported in the last 24 hours ended Friday morning, health officials said.
With 24 new deaths, the total number of fatalities rose to 432 since the first Covid-19 death was reported more than two months ago, according to Nasima Sultana, the additional director general of the health services directorate.
Sultana called upon the people to stay indoors and maintain hygiene etiquette to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus that causes the Covid-19 disease.
A total of 6,190 patients recovered with 588 in the last 24 hours since the first three cases of Covid-19 was traced on March 8.
Sultana informed a total of 9,727 samples were tested at 47 authorised laboratories across the country during the time.
