Dhaka – Bangladesh’s Covid-19 cases passed 25,000 mark with 1,251 new cases reported in the last 24 hours ended on Tuesday morning, officials said.
Twenty-one patients have during this period, raising the death toll from novel coronavirus to 370 in more than two months after first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of the government’s health services directorate, said that the total number infection reached 25,121 with the latest ones.
The new cases were determined after conducting test among 8,449 samples at 41 labs, Sultana said adding that 408 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours.
“This is the highest number of recoveries during the span of a day in the country,” she said adding that a total of 4,993 people have recovered after the first three cases were reported on March 8.
Fourteen of the deceased are from Dhaka, four from Chattogram, one from Mymensingh, one from Khulna and another was from Barishal division.
