Barishal – More than 100 cases of novel coronavirus have been reported in six districts of the southern administrative division of Barishal, officials said on Monday.
Six people have been died of the Covid-19 disease, caused by the novel coronavirus, in the region since March 10, divisional health services director Basudev Kumar Das said.
Among the 101 persons detected positive, 36 came from Barishal, 30 from Barguna, 20 from Patuakhali, seven from Pirojpur, six from Jhalakathi and two are from Bhola district, the official said.
The deaths were reported from Barishal, Patuakhali and Barguna districts.
Since March 10, 2020 total 8,964 persons sent to home quarantine in six districts including Barishal City Corporation and among them 5,507 persons already completed their quarantine period.
Total 396 out of 559 also received certificates after ending institutional quarantine during this period in this region.
Total 161 patients in coronal isolation wards of different public hospitals including Barishal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital were admitted and among them 81 were released after treatment, divisional health office sources said.
