Dhaka – Bangladesh on Monday reported three ageing people, including one octogenarian, recovered with medical care weeks after they were infected by the deadly novel coronavirus.
Four people have been recovered after they were found negative for two consecutive tests for the virus, said Meerjady Sabrina Flora, the director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research.
Of them on is above 80 years old and taken treatment at home, and two others are over 60 years, the IEDCR director said calling the ageing population not to worry as there was a notion that the elderly people are more vulnerable to the virus.
She still urged them to remain alert during this difficult time.
With the four, the country’s total number of recovered cases rose to 19.
The government, however, reported one more novel coronavirus case in the last 24 hours ended Monday morning, raising the total number of patients to 49. Among them five people died until last week.
The newly infected person is a 22-year old girl. The health officials have been investigating more about how the girl contacted the virus, Flora told an on-line press briefing.
Bangladesh detected the first three cases of the Covid-19 patients on March 8.
