Dhaka – At least six persons have been died after a private car crashed into a roadside tree in Godagari of northern Rajshahi district on Saturday, police said.
The accident occurred at Kadirpur Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj road, located more than 200 kilometers north of the capital Dhaka, in the noontime. The passengers of the car were travelling to attend a marriage ceremony, officer Shahidullah said.
Three of them killed on the scene while the others died at a local health facility. Four among the deceased belong to a family, the he added.
Road fatalities are frequent in Bangladesh. On average 8,000 people killed in road accidents in the South Asian country thanks to lax implementation of regulations, poor infrastructure and lack of awareness.
