Dhaka – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left Dhaka for Rome on a four-day official visit to hold bilateral meeting with her Italian counterpart Giuseppe Conte, officials said on Tuesday.
Bangladesh and Italy are likely to sign a number of agreements on cultural exchange, political consultations and cooperation in the diplomatic filed after the official meeting between the top leaders of the two countries during the visit.
Hasina is scheduled to hold a meeting with Giuseppe Conte on Wednesday to discuss the entire gamut of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
She is expected to inaugurate Chancery Building of Bangladesh Embassy in Rome in Via Dell’Antartide and will attend a meeting with the Italian business companies on the same day.
Hasina is scheduled to hold meeting with Pope Francis on Thursday in Rome followed by a train journey to the Italian city of Milan by train.
She will leave Milan Malpensa International Airport for home by an Emirates flight on Friday and expected to reach in Dhaka on Saturday morning ending her trip.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has said three bilateral instruments are likely to be signed between Dhaka and Rome during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to Italy.
The proposed deals are on cultural exchange, political consultations and cooperation in the diplomatic field, Momen said.
