How many days you need to get Bangladeshi e-passport

Dhaka – If you want to get an e-passport, you’ll have to file an application along with basic documents to the prescribed passport office, and have to wait from two days to 21 days for delivery if everything goes well.

There are three time-slots based on your fees to obtain a passport for Bangladeshi citizens . You can apply for general, urgent and very urgent categories for a five-year or 10-year validity passport booklet of 48 pages.

You can also file your application from Bangladesh missions abroad, but time and fee for those applicants are different than that of those filing from home.

The government has fixed 3,500 taka for general application, 5,500 taka for urgent and 7,500 taka for a five-year validity passport. Under general category your passport will be delivered in at least 21 days, urgent seven days and very urgent three days.

For a 10-year validity passport, the fee will be 5,000 taka for general, 7,000 for urgent and 9,000 for very urgent applications.   

For re-issuance of the passports, it will take two days for very urgent application, three days for urgent and seven days for the general application categories, the government said.

Bangladeshi citizens living in other countries will be able to file application through Bangladesh missions abroad. The fees 48-page five-year validity passport for general category will be 100 US dollars while for the urgent category they will have to pay additional 50 US dollars (100+50).  

For a 10-year validity passport, the fee is 125 US dollars for general and 175 dollars for urgent.
