Our Correspondent, Barishal: The on-going dengue outbreak has killed yet another woman in south-eastern district of Barishal, medical officials said on Sunday.
The patient, Sadhana Rani Haldar, 44, wife of Babul Chandra Haldar, was brought to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital on Saturday evening from her village home in Betagi of Barguna district.
The patient died in the morning of Sunday, said Dr. Bakir Hossain, director of the hospital
With the latest death, the toll has been rose to 12 since the hospital first diagnosed the mosquito-borne disease on July 16, 2019.
The nationwide dengue outbreak has claimed nearly 80 lives this year with more than 80,000 people infected, according to the official count. But the local media reports say the death toll is far higher than that of the official counts.
