Dhaka – Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited his Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina for a visit to New Delhi in the first week of October.
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar handed over the invitation letter to Hasina when Jaishankar made a courtesy call to Bangladeshi Prime Minister on Tuesday in Dhkaa.
Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said the prime minister extended her thanks to Modi for the invitation and greeted him.
Hasina said the two countries solved many problems, including the long-standing land boundary disputes, bilaterally.
Terming India as a true friend of Bangladesh, the premier said New Delhi is continuing support to Bangladesh since independence.
The Indian external affairs minister who arrived in Dhaka on Monday, held a bilateral meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart Abul Kalam Abdul Momen on Tuesday.
