Dhaka – Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti, the queen of the Netherlands, will arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday on a four-day visit to see on the ground a number of development projects in Bangladesh, according to foreign ministry officials.
Foreign Minister Abul Kalam Abdul Momen will receive Cerruti, who is better known as Queen Maxima, at Dhaka international airport in the afternoon.
She is expected to hold meetings with high officials mainly from Bangladesh financial sector and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during her stay in Dhaka.
The Dutch Queen, wife king Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, has served as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA) since 2009.
She is scheduled to visit the UN headquarters in Dhaka on Wednesday and hold meeting with representatives of development partners.
She will also visit Zindari union parishad office of Palash in Narsingdi and a boutique shop at Tongi.
Maxima will attend a roundtable discussion with representatives of private sectors and have a meeting with Bangladesh bank governor and officials of finance and post and telecommunication ministries on Thursday.
She is also scheduled to meet with President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban.
Maxima is scheduled to leave Dhaka on Friday.
