Jotpurhat – Law enforcements in northern Bangladeshi district of Joypurhat have recovered the body of an officer at the Police Lines pond of Joypurhat, officials said on Friday.
The deceased was identified Shah Alam, 33,an assistant sub-inspector of Detective Branch of police posted at the Police Lines.
Joypurhat district additional police super Belayet Hossain quoting his colleagues said Shah Alam informed his colleagues about 10 am on Thursday that he felt bad, adding that saying this, he went to the pond to have his bath but did not come back.
The officer said his colleagues started searching for him in the afternoon as they noticed that he was missing though he was supposed to go on duty.
After a search, a constable found his clothes and sandal on the pond bank, the police officer said.
The body was retrieved from the pond at night, fire service men said adding that he might have drowned.
