Dhaka – Noted Bangladeshi singer Subir Nandi has suffered a massive heart attack, hospital officials said on Monday.
The singer 65-year old was taken to Combined Military Hospital where he was put on coronary care unit Sunday night.
His condition is reported to be critical.
Subir Nandi won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer five times for his performance in the films Mahanayak in 1984, Shuvoda in 1986, Srabon Megher Din in 1999, Megher Pore Megh in 2004 and MohuaSundori in 2015.
The singer was honoured with prestigious national civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2019 for his contribution in music.
Nandi was born on November 19, 1953 in Sylhet.
