Dhaka – Discussants at a seminar emphasised skill-based learning for students to turn the world into more beautiful one urging the educators to ensure quality education for all.
They made the call at a daylong workshop organized jointly by Global Educators Initiative for Sustainable Transformation and Edward M Kennedy Center in Dhaka.
Academics, researchers, educators, and learners from different parts of Bangladesh joined the workshop. Teachers and students from 20 selected schools were among them.
Director of EMK center Dhaka Naveed Akbar was present as guest of honor while President of GEIST International Foundation Biplob Kumar Deb presided over the session.
“We need to set up aims and certain standards to achieve the sustainable development goals,” Akbar said urging teachers, educators, guardians others to create awareness about quality education.
“Quality education is prerequisite for building a better future generation,” he said adding that a common indicator needs to be set up in all schools for teaching-learning for that.
Students need to be familiar with the global trend and prepared to face the challenges, he said.
Biplob Kumar Deb said institutional environment, suitable curriculum, training courses and professional development for teachers are also important to ensure quality and sustainable education.
Youth engagement is very important for any development, he said urging for creating a sense of internationalism among the learners to help cope with present-day global context.
Developing links and collaboration with international partner schools are also important to ensure quality education.
