Dhaka – Police have recovered bodies of six people, believed to be murdered by rival groups, in Narayanganj and the capital Dhaka.
Of the bodies, four were found by the side of Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Araihazar sub-district of Narayanganj on Sunday morning, while the two others were found mutilated at Diabari area of northern part of the capital on Saturday night, police said.
Officer Abdullah Al Mamun said that police found an abandoned minibus, two pistols and a bullet at the site in Narayanganj. Identity of those killed was not known immediately.
It has been assumed that they were killed by a rival group, the officer said according to the circumstantial evidence. The bodies were sent to hospital for autopsy.
Identity of the two others recovered in Dhaka could also not be known.
Officer Nurul Muktakin said his team reached the scene after being informed by the local people and found the bodies almost mutilated. They might have been killed a few days ago, he said adding that the men were between the age of 30 and 35.
