Dhaka – The authorities have postponed publishing of the result of Dhaka University “Gha Unit” admission test following allegations of question paper leak, officials said on Monday.
The University in a press statement disclosed the decision. However, a previous statement had said that the result would be published on Tuesday.
Professor Akhteruzzaman told reporters that the authorities would take next step following the report by a probe committee, formed after the allegation surfaced.
The exam for Gha unit was held on Friday.
According to law enforcement agencies, hand-written question paper of the Gha unit admission test was leaked around 45 minutes ahead of the scheduled exam. The questions were circulated by two admission information centres in Bogura to an applicant’s guardian.
Based on information, police arrested six persons for their involvement with the leak of question paper. They were remanded in custody for interrogation, police said.
The questions were leaked through digital devise, according to a case filed with Shabnagh police station. Dhaka University chief security officer Kamrul Ahsan filed the case accusing six persons under the Digital Security Act and Public Examination Act on Saturday.
Students and admission seekers brought out a procession on the campus demanding a retake of the admission test and punishment of those involved in the question leake.
