Dhaka – A Bangladeshi court on Monday asked the authorities concerned to block the link to an online game which appeared as ‘suicide game’ across the world.
The High Court bench comprised of Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury and Justice JBM Hassan passed the order hearing a petition filed by lawyers to impose restriction in the much-talked about Blue Whale online game.
Three lawyers of the Supreme Court led by Barrister Mohammed Kawsar filed petition after local media reported that the online game was blamed for triggering suicide among the players.
Young boys and girls are believed to be addicted to the game, in which the players have to cross a total of 50 stages. The players are said to be directed various wired tasks to cross one level to other, and finally they are tend to commit suicide.
The court also ordered the government to restrain mobile phone operators from offering special discount package in the night-time.
The budget package in the night is believed to encourage the people to search and play such games.
