Dhaka – The 13th session of the Jatiya Sangsad began Sunday afternoon to run up to December 12 to deal with a few number of businesses, parliamentary officials said.
The Business Advisory Committee of the Jatiya Sangsad with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair decided that the parliamentary sittings will begin at 4 pm on the weekdays.
The meeting also empowered the speaker to increase duration, if needed, of the session, according to a press release of the parliament secretariat.
Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina, Leader of the Opposition Raushan Ershad, Jatiyata Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad, Awami League Lawmakers Amir Hossain Amu, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Mohammad Fazle Rabbi Mia, Abul Hasnat Abdullah, and Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon attended the meeting.
The session will be a brief one ahead of the winter session where President Abdul Hamid will deliver his speech for discussion in parliament.
