Dhaka – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ruled out any possibility of holding a dialogue that former prime minister Khaleda Zia had proposed for reconstitution of the election commission.
“No talks with the killers,” the prime minister said while addressing a press conference on her recent visit to Hungary.
The Prime Minister referred to a series of violent acts perpetrated by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party activists during the first anniversary of the last general elections that left more than 100 people burned to death.
She said the BNP headed by Khaleda Zia killed people setting fire on the vehicles.
Asked for her comments on the proposal the BNP had floated weeks ago, the Prime Minister cast doubt on the intention of the opposition party that boycotted the general elections and again took part in the local government elections.
“BNP is a party that cannot stick to its decision. What will they deliver for the country,” Hasina said adding that the party’s proposal could be sent to the President for his disposal.
