Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the leaders of her ruling Awami League party to prepare a framework of development for the future generation to run the country in a fast changing world.
The party, which led the country’s war of liberation, will have to think about making changes in every front to formulate its strategies, she said while addressing a meeting of the Awami League’s policymaking body or the Presidium on Wednesday.
“We have to show the to the next generation as to how the country will run and advance towards development. So, we will have to take preparation for that from now,” Hasina told the meeting at her official Ganabhaban residence.
This was the first meeting of the presidium, headed by Hasina, since the global pandemic of novel corona virus crippled many outdoor political activities since early March.
Hasina said the Awami League under the leadership of the Father of the Nation has brought the country’s independence, and the party, now in power, must take far-sighted plans.
She said the government must be accommodative towards the change.
“We know the change will happen. If there is a framework or a concept note or a guideline before us, then it will be easy to do any work for the next generations whoever comes to power,” she added.
The Prime Minister reminded that she is old enough now and how much time else she would continue to run the government affairs. She is 74 now.
The next generation needs a clear direction to run the show in fast changing world.
