5 Jamaat men arrested in Kotchandpur

Jhenaidah – Police have sent five activists of the Jamaat-e-Islami party to jail after they were arrested over terrorism charges.

The leaders and activists of the Islamic party were arrested in Kotchandpur as police said they were involved in acts of sabotage.

The Jamaat-men arrested were identified as Osman Gani, 60, son of Abdus Samad of Kabirkhali village , Rafiqul Islam, 40, son of Maidul Islam of Kotchandpur Bazerpara, Shah Alam, 49, son of Afzal Hossain and Shamser Ali, 34, son of Murad Ali, both of Jalalpur village and Hasanuzzaman, 38, son of Darbesh Ali of Dhopabila village of Kotchandpur police station.

Officer Ahmed Kabir Hossain said they were wanted in specific cases of vandalism.
