Dhaka – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has alerted the people against a ‘prevent boat campaign’ by a vested quarter ahead of the next general election due by the year end.
She also questioned whether the vested quarter wanted to install anti-liberation force in Bangladesh by launching the campaign against boat, the ruling Awami League’s election symbol.
The Prime Minister came up with the observation while she was addressing a rally organised in Dhaka to accord a reception to her for the achievements, including Bangladesh’s qualification to be developing nation from least developed group, she attained in the last nine years of leadership.
Hasina assumed office as prime minister in 2009. Her party formed government after the victory in 2014 election, which was boycotted by the major opposition parties.
“There is a quarter in the country which doesn’t see any development and some are saying that the boat will have to be resisted,” Hasina said.
Those who want to thwart the boat want to bring the anti-liberation forces and war criminals in power, she said.
