Dhaka – Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is poised to join the outreach meeting of the G7 summit Saturday as she reached Quebec of Canada.
On her arrival on a four-day visit, the Prime Minister joined a dinner hosted by Governor General of Canada Julie Payette for the G7 guests on Friday.
The head of governments and international organizations from across the continents have been participating in the Outreach Session of the G7 Summit at La Citadelle Quebec.
Bangladeshi Prime Minister exchanged pleasantries with President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa, Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President of Haiti and chair of the Caribbean Community Jovenel Moise among others, said Ihsanul Karim, the PM’s press secretary.
Canadian Prime Minister Justine Trudeau invited his Bangladeshi counterpart as one of the world potential leaders beyond G7, to attend the meeting. The G7 is a platform of the world’s seven largest advanced economies consisting of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Hasina left Dhaka on Thursday evening and landed at Jean Lesage International Airport on Friday morning. She is expected to hold meeting with Trudeau on Sunday morning at her place of residence at Hotel Chateau Frontenac in Quebec.
