Major reshuffle in cabinet after induction of new ministers

Dhaka – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reshuffled her cabinet on Wednesday, a day after she inducted three new faces in the council of ministers, according to a new circular issued by the Cabinet Division.

According to the Rules and Business, the prime minister assigned Rashed Khan Menon to the ministry of Social Affair from the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry.

Newly inducted AKM Shahjahan Kamal, a lawmaker from Laxmipur, was given the portfolio of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry while Mustafa Jabbar, appointed minister on technocrat quota, was assigned for the ministry of Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministry.

Forest and Environment Minister Anwar Hossain Manju was replaced by Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud.

Naranyan Chandra Chanda, who was elevated to the position of minister from state minister, was given the charge of Fisheries and Livestock Ministry, which fell vacant after the death of Sayadul Haque last month.

State Minister for Post and Telecommunication Tarana Halim has been given new assignment at the Information Ministry.

Newly inducted State Minister Kazi Keramat Ali was given the charge of Vocational and Madrasha Education Division. State minister for Nuruzzaman Ahmed who was in charge of the Social Affairs Ministry has been put under Rashed Khan Menon, according to the official circular issued on Wednesday.
