Dhaka – Bangladesh’s ruling Awami League party will accord a reception to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her return home from United States on October 7, the party said on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister, who is now in London on her way to Dhaka, will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday.
Hasina left Dhaka on September 16 for New York to attend the 72nd United Nations General Assembly, where she placed a set of five-point proposal to bring to an end to the Rohingya crisis.
Bangladesh has been lauded globally for allowing over half million Rohingya Muslims who crossed into Bangladesh fleeing sectarian violence in Myanmar’s Rakhine state for more than a month.
The Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies will organize the mass reception, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader told journalists after a joint meeting at AL President’s political office.
