Mobile court seizes 4,000 tons rice in Chittagong

Chittagong – A mobile court has confiscated 80,000 sacks of rice weighing nearly 4,000 tons from a depot in Chittagong for allegedly stocking the prime staple for more than a month, officials said on Thursday.

The drive bean across Bangladesh to stabilize market as rice prices have gone up in the domestic market because of what the government says an artificial crisis.

Magistrate Syed Murad Ali led the search at Masud & Brothers in Chittagong’s Sagorika area and found the rice, which was hoarded for more than a month in its depots.

The court also sealed the rice stock-house for hoarding the rice for more than a month.
