Dhaka – A forensic text of a tortured girl in northern Bogra district has found the evidence of rape as the victim was allegedly abducted and violated by a former local leader of the ruling Awami League party, police said on Friday.
A medical board in Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital headed by AKM Saiful Islam on Monday conducted the forensic test and found the evidence, said Abul Kalam Azad, the officer investigating the case.
The police was handed the evidence.
According to the case, Tufan Sarkar, a suspended Sramik League leader, and his cohorts abducted the girl from her home in the town on July 17. She was allegedly raped by the abductors.
To suppress the incident, Tufan Sarkar’s mother Ruma, his wife Asha and sister Rumki who is also a ward councilor took away the girl and her mother to their home, where they shaved their heads on July 28.
The mother of the victim filed a case against 10 people including Tufan, his mother, wife and sister narrating the incidents. Police arrested 11 people in connection with the incidents.
Azad, the investigation officer, said the forensic examination says the girl is underage and she was violated.
