CNG filling stations shut for 24 hours

Dhaka – The authorities have announced that the filling stations distributing compressed natural gas for motor vehicles would remain shut for 24 hours ending midnight Wednesday.

The suspension was announced because of the maintenance work at Bibiyana field that supplies gas to most of the filling stations, according to a release of the Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited.

The government had earlier decided to keep open the filling stations round the clock during the Eid vacation to facilitate holidaymakers hassle-free fuel supply.

The state-run company expressed sorry for the inconvenience.

All CNG filling stations under Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company will remain closed, it said.

The announcement issued a week ago said in order to make the people’s journey smooth during Eid holidays, all CNG filling stations will remain open for 24 hours starting from June 23 to July 3, excepting June 28.
