Dhaka – Security forces have cordoned off a building in north-eastern Bangladeshi city of Sylhet suspecting that militants are holed up inside, police said on Friday.
Acting on information, the lawmen surrounded the building at Shibbari of Dakshin Surma in the shrine city to capture the suspected members of the banned militant outfit Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh, an officer said.
Television footage show that the lawmen guarding the home. They did not allow anyone to enter within one kilometer of the suspected den.
Local residents say that they heard sound of explosion from inside the building.
