Dhaka – One person has been killed after a girder fell off from an under-construction flyover in Bangladeshi capital Dhaka, police and firefighters said on Monday.
Two other people were also injured as the girder of Maghbazar-Mouchak flyover fell at around 1.30 am near Malibagh railway gate. They are being undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Firefighters say a bystander, Swapan, 40, was crashed under the girder. A few vehicles were also damaged and railway communications between Dhaka and other parts of the city remained suspended for three hours because of the accident.
Officers at Railway police department Yasin Faruk said that the rubbles have been removed to make ways for the trains.
At least 13 people were killed in Chittagong when a girder of Bahaddarhat Flyover in Chittagong collapsed in 2012.
