Dhaka – Unidentified assailants gunned down a Bangladeshi national after he refused to extortion in Jonesburg of South Africa, said officials on Sunday.
The incident occurred at Blomfontein area in Jonesburg city of the country, leaving Liakot Ali, 52, dead, said foreign ministry officials.
Ali hailed from Begumganj of south-eastern Bangladeshi district of Noakhali,
Begumganj police officer-in-charge Sajedur Rahman, quoting victim’s relatives said Ali used to do cosmetic business in the country.
The body of Ali will be brought back home soon, said foreign ministry sources.
