Dhaka – More than 92 per cent eighth grade students came out successful as the result of the Junior Secondary Certificate and Junior Dakhil Certificate examinations published on Thursday.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid made the announcement that the rate of pass in the eighth grade was 92.33 per cent. He also handed the result of the public examination to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official Ganabhaban residence in the morning.
A total of 2,346,959 students sat for the exam in 2016. Of them 2,183,975 were passed. A total of 247,588 students obtained GPA-5.
According to the results, 98.51 per cent of students of fifth-grader terminal examinations came up successful. The number of GPA-5 holder is 281,898 in the junior grade.
