Dhaka – A Chinese citizen was murdered allegedly by his employees in south-eastern Bangladeshi town of Jessore, police said on Thursday.
The lawmen arrested two persons in connection with the murder of Cheng Hi Sheng, 42, the China man.
Sheng, who ran a business of easy bike machinery in Jessore, was beaten to death on Wednesday night at his warehouse located in Uposhohor of Jessore town, officer Anisur Rahman said.
The attackers also stuffed a large quantity of tissue papers in his mouth during the attack, Rahman said.
The Chinese citizen has been living in Bangladesh for the last two years on business purpose, said Ilias Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali Police Station.
Employees of his firm, Nazmul Hassan and his nephew Moktadir Rahman Raju, were arrested on the following morning. They primarily confessed to the killing.
Police said the suspected killers called Sheng’s wife Li Ing by phone in Dhaka and said that her husband has gone missing. Ing later contacted the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.
Informed by the embassy, police raided the warehouse around 9:30am Thursday and recovered the body from a toilet.
