Dhaka – The Supreme Court on Monday ordered the law ministry to publish a gazette notification over the discipline and conduct of lower court judges by January 15, court officials said on Monday.
The apex court said that the President has been misguided in this regard and directed the ministry to finalize the rules and regulations over the discipline and conduct of lower court judges.
On Sunday, the president gave an order saying that there is no need for gazette notification in this regard.
An eight-member panel judges of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order.
The law ministry on Sunday issued a notification regarding the President’s order.
ASSM Zahirul Haque Dulal and Mohammad Shahidul Haque, two secretaries of the law ministry, appeared before the court during the hearing.
Following issuing a notification, the government can come to an end over the rules.
