Dhaka- A Dhaka court on Thursday served arrest warrant for Bangladesh Nationalist Party senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman in a sedition case, officials said on Thursday.

The court also issued the warrant for others involved in the case filed with Tejgaon police station after it formally accepted charges against them.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sharafuzzaman Ansari passed the order.

The court has also ordered asking the investigators to submit a report regarding their arrest by November 1 whether the court order has been executed.

On January 8, police sub-inspector Borhan Uddin filed the case after the ETV aired an interview of Rahman that tend to jeopardize Bangladesh’s sovereignty. Tarique Rahman was made prime suspect in the case.
