Chittagong – At least five people have been killed after a truck hit a passenger bus in south-eastern Bangladeshi district of Chittagong, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred a day after two people were killed at the nearby area as a truck collided with a vehicle.
The latest accident took place at Khaiyachhara area at Mirsorai of Dhaka-Chittagong highway in the early hours of the day.
Imtiaz Bhuiyan, officer of Mirsarai Police Station told newsnextbd.com the truck knocked the Chittagong-bound Shyamali Paribahan bus when it was parked on the road.
Five people were killed on the scene while 18 others rushed to hospital as they sustained injuries.
Three of the deceased victims were passengers while the two others were identified as helpers of the bus, said the officer.
Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue.
